Federal Union

EU and UK agree on trade deals
EU Parliament wants to examine the pact carefully

The trade agreement is intended to regulate economic relations between the island and the continent from January 2021. The EU Parliament will examine the negotiated agreement in detail before approving it in the new year, it said. The most important point is to avoid tariffs and ensure that trade is as smooth as possible. The contract also includes fishing and cooperation on energy, transport, justice, police and many other topics

Apparently Brexit has been concluded "successfully"
But there is a great democratic nonsense because the agreement is not legal before it is approved by the European Parliament. But still ... what happens if the European Parliament rejects it?
The European Union does not work because it is not democratic

The European Union has three options:
* Back to the Westphalian nation-state
* Keeping the EU as it is now: intergovernmental administration based on a treaty
* Establishing the United States of Europe, based on a federal constitution.
That's what Europe needs.

In concrete terms, we are thinking of applying Article 20 to the following nine Member States of the European Union: Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Luxembourg, Slovenia. In recent months, these countries have united around the theme of 'Corona Bonds'. We do not take a political stand, in the sense of for or against Corona bonds. All we are doing is making the statement:
(a) that nine Member States have a common interest that is not taken care of by the EU,
(b) that only a federal form of state is suitable for the representation of interests that transcend the forces of an individual member state,
(c) that Article 20 is subservient to the creation of such a form of State called European Federation,
(d) that such a European Federation may accede as a Member State of the European Union,
(e) and that Article 10 - the last article of our draft federal constitution - provides the solution for the financing of the creation of such a federation, reading:
“Article X – Transitional Measures and Ratification of the Constitution
1. All debts entered, and engagements contracted by States before the ratification of this Constitution will remain valid within the European Federation.
2. The ratification by a simple majority of the Citizens of nine states of the Eurozone will be sufficient for this Constitution of the European Federation to come into force.”

This is the same procedure by which the United States Federation was created: the Federation takes over all the debts and commitments of the Member States so that they can start with a clean slate. To make this financially possible, the federation can take out a loan at 0% interest, repayable over a period of one hundred years. The ECB could provide that loan. Or else China. After all, China owns a large part of America's debts without declaring America bankrupt.

So much for the motivation to apply Article 20 for the establishment of a concrete federation of nine member states within the EU. Now the organization of that process.

Organisation
Money shall be required for the application of Article 20. To that end, we approach one or more Funds that may be willing to support this project financially. Whether they are willing to do so will depend not only on the credibility of our motivation, of the urgency and of the means to prevent the implosion of the EU through federalization within the EU, but also on the strength of the organization needed to make this project a success.

The leading motive of the organization of this process is 'work bottom up'. There are currently 27 federations in the world. Some strong, some weak. The weakness of weak federations usually has to do with the fact that they are created top down. As a result, unitary elements creep into the federal system. That should be avoided.

The question now is: how do you build a federation bottom up, for nine countries that are now so averse to the burden of the (erroneous) intergovernmental operating system of the EU that they will run screaming away as soon as the proposal to federate is put on the table? The experience is that less than 1% of the European population knows what the strength and benefits of a federal state are. The other 99% think that a federal state kills off the sovereignty and cultural identity of member states. Eliminating this prejudice is an almost impossible task. But that does not alter the fact that a viable and credible federation of, by and for the people must be. The people must feel that they own the federation. So, there is no other option than to start with the people. In steps, in accordance with the federal principle of organizing in layers from bottom to top.

Javier,

I agree with you that all parliaments should have been involved much earlier. Also, I'm convinced that the disregard of the deadline given by the EP is not only a NO GO but more or less a cancellation of all democratic behavior by the Commission.

As we mentioned in our last meeting a few hours ago, the EP will have to adapt this treaty more or less and to strengthen anti-democratic behavior by the national governments and the commission.

This is the wrong way in direction to the United States of Europe!

Therefore, we the people have to regain our sovereignty and to show these politicians and their stuff the limits.

For this, we have to find and to recruit a lot of Europeans to strengthen our ranks first.

As long as we are a few enthusiasts we can jump and cry for a United Europe and a common constitution without any success for further decades- that's democracy.

In my weblog (German language) I commented it a little bit further: https://kuemmerle.name/parlamentarismus

Dear Heinrich,

I am glad to read your contribution and I would like to reply as follows:

* ...the EP will have to adapt this treaty more or less and to strengthen anti-democratic behavior by the national governments and the commission....
The European Parliament will never adapt because the EU institutions have become a labyrinth of contracts, contract modifications, exceptions (Schengen, Euro, European Social Charter) among many other amendments that no one can get out of the monumental legislative mess that "enjoy" political professionals who do not want to abandon the current situation because it is their profession

* ...Therefore, we the people have to regain our sovereignty..
Citizens will never be sovereign in the EU if we trust the reform of the treaties, which do not bring solutions but complications. (emigrants, refugees, agriculture, globalization, non-EU / Brexit courts)

* ...we have to find and to recruit a lot of Europeans to strengthen our ranks first.
You are right on this point and therefore we trust that in the near future organizations such as UEF, DiEM25, Pusle of Europe, Stand up for Europe, Volt, COTE, etc., will be able to federate in the Federation of Alliance European Federalists because this federation has a project ready to be implemented as soon as all the members of all pro-EU organizations are citizens who will form, from the bottom up, the necessary structures to carry out the FAEF plan

* As long as we are a few enthusiasts we can jump and cry for a United Europe and a common constitution without any success for further decades- that's democracy.
Enthusiasts are the people who have vision and thanks to them many utopias become reality. I can personally affirm that some of my dreams have come true ... and everything has been possible thanks to the European Union of Mallorca, which has made it easier for us to always collaborate with pro-EU organizations. The main goal is not yet reached but every day it is closer ... EU Federation with a Federal Constitution

Best european greetings

Provisional implementation is to remain a unique exception, said EP leaders. Parliamentary oversight will start as soon as possible to adopt EP position before the end of the transition.

.............
in my opinion,
It is possible that the history of the "EU Constitution 2004 and 2005" will repeat itself when France ... or another member of the EU Club rejects the Brexit trade agreement,

All the best and Happy New Year..!!
